THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY WALL (click picture for larger image)
The Energy Efficiency Wall (“The Wall”) is an energy efficiency display developed by Prairie Power, in conjunction with its 10 member Touchstone Energy Cooperatives of central Illinois and Thermal Imaging Services of Lewistown, IL. The 16 ft display illustrates “What Makes a Home Energy Efficient!” including:

Energy efficient construction practices;

Energy efficient construction materials; and,
-
Energy efficient equipment and technologies.

The proper The proper use use of caulking around penetration points in a home’s external walls and around windows and doors; and the selection and installation of energy efficient insulation, ventilation equipment and lighting systems are just a few of the energy efficient items illustrated in the Wall. Fact sheets and Touchstone Energy brochures address a variety of additional and supplemental information on energy efficiency, including:
- Geothermal heating, cooling and water heating systems;
- Air source heat pumps;
- Compact fluorescent and LED lighting;
- Energy Star products and appliances; etc.
The “Wall” also includes DVD’s, on-line web based programs and of course, face-to-face energy expert advice from your Touchstone Energy Cooperatives.
The Wall appears at PPI member cooperatives’ Annual meetings, county fairs, trade shows and other member cooperative’s consumer-member events. Since 2009 the Energy Efficiency Wall have been available at 32 events with over 374,000 attendees.
